Scheherazade

Client: Fundația Calea Victoriei

Autumn 2016 I was commissioned to do five illustrations for Rimsky-Korsakov’s Scheherazade. They were meant to accompany The New Year Concert at the Radio Hall in Bucharest (conductor: Tiberiu Soare, Symphactory Orchestra). I wasn’t familiar with the symphonic suite, and so I had the chance to discover what is now my favorite piece of classical music (don’t just take my word, listen to it).

The images were turned into animations, with the help of Alex Böjthe, and projected onscreen during the concert.
