Once upon a time there was a a child who cried and cried and did not want to be born. So his father promised him youth without old age and life without death, and, 14 years later, the young prince set out to find immortality.
Youth Without Old Age was collected by Petre Ispirescu in the second half of the XIX century. Here, we see a hero who finds eternal life, only to loose it because he cannot follow one rule: ”don’t miss the ones you left behind”.
Created for the Timemongers project, in the frame of the Helen M. Salzberg 2023 residency at Jaffe Center for Book Arts.
