All these portraits are character studies for the webcomic I am working on with @ileana_surducan . Some of them will show up in the future, some of them will never make it in the spotlight… but I am having a lot of fun!

The Grand Vizier – Fisksoppa, year of the HoneyComb
Inspired by Renaissance portraits, mostly Leonardo da Vinci (…which turned out to be… more difficult than previously thought)
Merchant – Fisksoppa, year of the Pickled Cucumber.

While doing research, I discovered Xue Mo, who is a Mongolian painter, and that reminded me of Zoriko Dorzhiev, whose paintings I adored back in uni.
Merchant – Fisksoppa, year of the Jelly-Jelly Fish.
The color reference is from a Dave Dorman illustration, but the character reference is from Nirvana in fire. I love that tv show.
